How can society make use of the skills and experience of over-50 adults who might otherwise think of retiring?
A new poll commissioned by Experience Wave aims to create and promote policies that encourage older Americans to continue to contribute through paid work or pro bono, to enhance lifelong learning, and to re-enter the work force if already retired.
The goals of Experience Wave coincide with the majority of 1000+ voting adults who were polled. Their concerns are: How to keep working, volunteering, and get additional training to keep health care benefits.
76% of those polled said that "Society should provide avenues to keep older Americans engaged in their communities.
Harris Wofford, 81 year old Peace Corps founder, spokesperson for Experience Wave concurs. See article "Traditional Retirement...Has Been Retired."
